"The painting is not so much the thing in itself as it is an exciting activity of mind, a process of the artist's perceiving."

...This is a quote from an art book on Cezanne. It is a great description of the artistic endeavor. I believe art is worthwhile and meaningful if it represents the creativity and emotional involvement of the artist. Then connection with the viewer will complete the process called "art". My people paintings try to create a moment in time. The viewer is encouraged to interpret and create his own story. This same viewer involvement is asked when connecting with my abstract work. They tell an environmental story through use of line and color. Each individual may find a personal meaning. I try to create a work of strength and color to please the eye over a period of time. Multiple points of entry and exit lead to shifting focal centers thus creating a new experience each time the painting is viewed. Art is my bliss. Thank you for sharing "The art experience". Diana
