jeanee james

“My Association with Jeanee James goes back to her early years as I’m in close touch with her family. She was raised in Homer, Alaska which is known for its natural beauty and the creative artistry of many of the townspeople. Small shops abound featuring local fare. Perhaps her entrepreneurial feelings were touched by this example and that gave her the confidence to pursue her many interests and finally settle on her passion of capturing on film, solitary moments filled with poignancy and many times awe-inspiring to the viewer.”

“Art has always been a part of Jeanee’s life. In high school there was one art scholarship awarded and she was the recipient. She went on to study in Hawaii and abroad. Upon completing her education her goal was to see the world. Jeanee has climbed the Pyramids of Egypt, worked on a kibbutz in Israel, backpacked Europe, explored Asia, Africa, South America, Tahiti and Australia. All the while amassing photos of her journeys. Her albums are filled with amazing images of cultures and people. She worked on luxury cruise liners as the Hostess where she captured the heart of the handsome Staff Captain. They were married and moved to New York where her twin daughters were born. This is when her photography blossomed again. Her baby girls opened a whole new world to her.”

“She has a gift for capturing intimacy, beauty and power. Her range is wide and over the years Jeanee has developed her unique and distinctive style.” “Anyone can snap pictures, know how to use cameras, can tell people where to sit and stand but Jeanee has an element that few people have… an artists viewpoint.”
